During the inaugural iteration of the participatory work, Amendment: Knell of a Nation (AKN), members of the public are invited to establish a hypothetical new constitution by submitting their postcard responses to the question, "What do you offer as a new social contract for our society?" As the public contemplates this question, the performance/installation illustrates how the American experiment is sullied and energies must shift to reconfigure it into justice and equity, offering a garden to plant the ideas to grow this new social contract.
Creating new social contracts with fellow humans seems like a good start to a more just society(s). The goal is to activate this participatory performance and installation in different states, cities, and towns in the United State, to create a comprehensive contract that will be shared with whomever is interested - I hope you are.
