does one plus one equal two??

The moment I started to think that one plus one can equal more than two is a bit blurry. I do recall sitting in the back seat of my partner's vehicle as he drove us to a town about an hour and a half from home. My son had just fallen asleep and we were listening to a talk radio broadcast pontificating on the definitions and reasons for creativity. I guess my memory isn't blurry. I began to consider all of the people and things that are made from two separate entities coming together creating an equation that can equal infinity. My thought began with the color wheel. If I add two colors, I'll get another color - one additional color. If I add multiple colors, the result is one color. Then I thought about my siblings. My mother, one, and my dad, another one, made seven people. Although there is one plus another one, it doesn't equal one ultimately. In my case, my partner, one, and myself, one, created our son, one person. And furthermore, in my family dynamic, one person plus another person creating another person equals three. I began to consider how the idea of removing mathematics and exploring equations philosophically can form unity, understanding and empathy. If we consider that each individual impacts everyone because one equals infinity, we can embrace creativity, see ourselves in others, and accept that we're one system that needs each other to sustain harmoniously.
