I think about the murders happening in my country and lands around the globe; the greed that drives individuals and corporations to plunder regardless of the suffering it causes; the foul mouths of people in powerful positions that lead others to commit heinous acts; the destruction of Earth; the trafficking of humans for profit; the abuse of animals and other beings; the passing of laws that are motivated by hate and bigotry; the anti-Blackness, the misogyny, the misogynoir…

How do we help each other when it seems as though there’s no possible ‘out’ from the horrendous evils throughout our world?? …

We share empirical data, we share personal empirical data, we check facts, we have productive conversations, we listen, we learn, we think, we make positive shifts to no one’s detriment, we love, we stay hopeful, we take care of ourselves, we rest, we imagine, we provide respite, we enjoy, we wander, we care for the Earth, we participate in community happenings, we participate politically, we speak up, we rest, we give, we imagine, we pray, we spell, we smile, we cry, we build anew, we invent, we question, we ask, we assist, we lead, we step back, we rest, we empathize, we help as best as we can.

Be an active member of an organization that aligns with your values, with your advocacy. Share knowledge. Study. Be an active member in your community. Provide space for social gatherings. Provide funding for initiatives that directly help those in need. Be the voice for those unseen, unheard, disregarded and dehumanized.
